The fashion items designed for my first collection, Hidden Culture, carry one of the auspicious Nepalese and Tibetan symbols known indigenously as Matsya Yugma ( “a pair of fish.”) Evocative images inspired on Tibetan Khampa nomades in traditional clothing and jewellery are printed on silk inside of the bags.
The bags are handmade. The materials used are felt, suède, and silk. The bag itself is made from felt, one single form without seams. The lining is made from silk and the closure parts and handle are made from suede. The felt is New Zealand sheep felt, strong and waterproof. The grey colour may differ slightly each new production, because of a hand managed colour process. Click here to see the production process.
